House Portraits

I’m passionate about the preservation of architecture, history, and of course, keeping the spirit of Dundas alive. In a world where small towns are being gobbled up by large sprawling cities, where old charming buildings are being torn down and replaced by modern highrises, it is invaluable to capture the beauty of the old buildings and preserve the past for future generations.

I’ve always loved drawing and painting architecture and structures, but this interest increased exponentially over the last few years. Throughout the pandemic lockdown, I challenged myself to start taking daily walks through the streets of my hometown where I discovered the beautiful sights and began taking in the interesting buildings I passed by. I have been sketching and creating watercolour paintings of Dundas’ historical buildings over the last 20 years, but this time I felt drawn to the quiet residential homes surrounded by mature trees peeking through fences that offered peace. I began posting these sketches on social media and seeking information about their history.

House portraits make great gifts for all occasions - Mother’s/Father’s Days, weddings, showers, birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, when you or kids move out, etc. Keep a piece of home with you forever.
