About the Artist

Danuta is a Multi-disciplinary Artist: Painter, Graphic Designer, Muralist, Art Educator, and Author.

Danuta grew up in Poland and studied Commercial Art and Advertising as a young adult before settling her roots in Canada. Continuing her studies in Hamilton, she completed additional courses ranging from Graphic Design and Creative Watercolours to Artist Educator programs at; Mohawk College, the Dundas Valley School of Art (DVSA) and the Art Gallery of Hamilton (AGH). Her education led her to grow her Graphic Design and Printing business over the years, but her creative mind and arts background called her to further explore other art forms, including; drawing and painting (portraits, landscapes, and architectural sketches), window art and murals, pyrography, and even creative face painting.

Danuta has mentored and guided many local initiatives and youth-led projects run by young artists from Hamilton and across the GTA. She has led various creative activities and exercises with kids and teens and guided the creation of large-scale community murals and artwork with children and the general public.

In recent years, Danuta’s focus has shifted to adding to her collection of watercolour and mixed media paintings of Dundas buildings and homes (now including over 350 illustrations), capturing architectural vignettes on her travels, and working on publishing the latest edition of the ‘My Walks of Art’ book.

When she’s not working, she enjoys keeping busy tending to her home and luscious gardens, travelling all around the world, and hiking as often as she can. Recently Danuta completed the over 900kms Bruce Trail (spanning from Niagara to Tobermory, Ontario - 2023) and hiked over 300kms of the Camino de Santiago (from Porto, Portugal to Santiago de Campostela, Spain - 2024).
